It’s time to put your track pants away and instead delve back into your spring summer wardrobe. While many of us here in the UK are having fewer Zoom meetings and more terrace drinks, you want to make sure that your fits are on-trend. From loose straight cut jeans to oversized blazers to bright pink, I’m here to highlight the cutest trends for the season, along with where to get them! I know that for many, some of these trends can feel a little overwhelming (especially when you’re petite like me), so I’ve also included some special style tips for you along with each one.
Don’t worry; you’re going to see loads more outfits styling all these trends in the next few months, so get ready for a lot of summer outfit ideas! Till then, let’s get you acquainted with THE trends to know this season.

Alberta Feretti
THE MAXI DRESS
This is a spring summer classic – who doesn’t love a billowing maxi dress when the sun is shining? One of the biggest movements we are seeing in fashion now is care-free, fuss-free pieces and a maxi dress is exactly that. Easy to slip on with no stress! To be super on trend, try one with puffy sleeves or in a bright shade. I’ve highlighted some of my favourites below!
Style Tip: If you’re petite like me, maxi dresses can overwhelm your silhouette. Instead look for longer midi dresses to get the look. You can also look at adding height with block heels or looking for wrap dresses or ones with a slit to show some leg.

Valentino
FRUITY SHADES
In case you haven’t seen them yet, I’ve been creating reels sharing the coolest colour combo’s to rock now. Colour is trending heavily for this season, especially after the grim year that 2020 was. More than that, we are seeing a lot of pink and green. It’s not just about adding in a “pop” of colour anymore with accessories but more about rocking the shade of your choice with confidence. Think bright pink shirts, colourful skirts and even multi coloured combos! See my reel for some inspo here!
Style Tip: Its much easier to pair colours when they are of the same shade groups – for example pastels always work together!

Ulla Johnson
STRAIGHT LEG JEANS
Bye bye skinny jeans and hello to the straight leg! It feels like the end of an era with the fall of the skinny jeans (but hold on to them, you know fashion is cyclical!) but I’m really embracing the straight leg jean. There’s something so relaxed and easy going about them. I’ve highlighted my favourite ones below.
Style Tip: Try this style as a high waist. It looks so much more refined.

Chloe, Rochas, Emporio Armani
CUT OUTS
Cut outs, wrap tops, anything that shows that little touch of skin is in! Personally, I haven’t embraced jeans and skirts with cut outs just yet but instead have opted for wrap around blazers and shirt with side slits. I love that these are all basics with a twist, which makes everyday dressing so much more fun.
Style tip: Pair your cut out piece with something that provides more coverage to keep your outfit looking classy.

Zimmermann
THE MINI SKIRT
Okay, not going to lie, this is a personal favourite of mine. I LOVE a mini skirt no matter the season so I am welcoming this trend whole heartedly. I’m seeing a lot of straight cut mini skirts on the runway. You can look at adding a sporty edge to them with a cute hoodie like at Miu Miu or keep things more refined by styling with a beautiful summer blouse. Either way, one of the easiest and coolest trends to style!

Isabel Marant
OVERSIZED BLAZERS
Are you sensing a pattern here? Oversized, loose fits, are dominating right now. I think this is mainly because of how easy it is to wear and makes the transition from WFH sweats to outdoor looks much easier. Make sure to pay attention to proportions when styling an oversized blazer! I like to opt for something a bit more fitted on the bottom!

Chanel
MONOCHROME
On one end of the spectrum we have fruit salad outfits and on the other we have the complete minimalist. Black and white outfits are dominating – the simpler, the better! Rock one colour top to toe or mix and match to create something ultra classic.
Style Tip
Add interest to a monochrome outfit with different textures like boucles, tweed or faux leather.
