Why The Slip Dress is One of my Favourite Pieces

Don’t Underestimate the Power of the Slip Dress…

Over the past few years my style has evolved in many directions. If there is anything that I have learnt, it’s don’t underestimate the power of a good basic. The slip dress, is one such basic in your arsenal that can be styled in so many beautiful ways. I’ve discovered my love for the slip dress recently. Slip right into one, and you’ve got a look that is effortless and chic immediately.

One of the reasons I love the slip dress is because there are so many different ways to style it! For this particular look I wanted to match this lounge piece with something more tailored. I love the contrast you can create through combinations like that! It also gave me a chance to wear my new favourite flats – the embroidery work on them is just beautiful. Anything with good embroidery has my heart! I would also style this dress with a good blazer, maybe a checked one, for the upcoming season! For a more casual look, throw on your favourite chunky sweater over!

Basics like a slip dress are things every girl should have hanging in her closet. I’m going to be exploring the importance of good basics to enhancing your style more. Is the something you guys would enjoy?

Beauty Tips from the Experts at Dior, Jo Malone and Miller Harris…

Last week I was lucky enough to have a day of pampering in the beauty quarter of London, Covent Garden. It was only recently that I learnt that all our favourite brands including Dior, Jo Malone, Charlotte Tilbury, and so many more, have dedicated beauty only stores around Covent Garden! Through my day, I got to try out some brand new products and more importantly pick up some amazing beauty tips to share with you all!

My day started out at Dior makeup. It’s no secret that I am a die-hard Dior girl so I was ecstatic at the chance to be able to try out their new makeup range as well as their new perfume, Miss Dior. Throughout my makeover, I picked up some fabulous makeup tips that have changed my routine for sure!

My second stop on the Beautython was at Miller Harris. A British perfumery focused in french techniques, each fragrance offers a story of it’s own. Here is where I learnt a bit more about picking a fragrance best suited for you…

My final stop was at the beautiful Jo Malone. Jo Malone scents fill my home from candles to bath wash so I was most excited to receive a hand and arm massage here. Here is where I learnt a bit more about the keys to keeping your body moisturised, and locking in your favourite scents…

Creating the Perfect Santorini Outfits with My Favourite Wolford Pieces

I have just returned from beautiful Santorini (Stay tuned for my guide to this gorgeous island!) and I’m back with more than just a tan! Coming up with holiday outfits can seem like such a task, but when you pack the right pieces, creating the perfect outfit is a breeze! (See how I packed for my Santorini vacation here!) We all want to feel relaxed yet glamorous on holiday and I was lucky enough to team up with the wonderful Wolford team to show you how to hit that balance on vacation!

For my first look, I opted for a black skirt. Although it seems like an unlikely piece to take with you on a beach holiday, it was one of my most versatile pieces! I loved slipping it on over my favourite one piece for a refined day look. In the evening, I paired it with a crop top. Since the skirt can be worn on the waist, it balances out with the top creating an elegant yet summery look!

My second look is all about this amazing body suit. There were literally a hundred different ways I wore this piece but I chose to share this one because it was my favourite. I loved how the body suit dresses down my skirt; perfect for my holiday! I also loved wearing it with my striped linen pants!

My third look made me feel the most glam! Not only is the colour of this gorgeous dress amazing on any tan, but Wolford’s firm fit provides enough support making you feel so glam! I loved just slipping this on over my bikini for a day on the town or turning it into a skirt for the evening!

Every single one of these Wolford pieces worked in a multitude of ways to create the most fabulous holiday looks! What I love even more is that I could make them work for any season! Would you want to see me style these for autumn/winter?

I’m sure a lot of you have already seen (and if you haven’t, you should follow me on Instagram here!) that I’m travelling! With all my travels I’ve picked up some tips on how to pack for a holiday and keep things light. One of my favourite things about summer vacations is bare feet and keeping things easy and simple but still feeling stylish. I’ve teamed up with Wolford to show you how I packed for my holiday and some of the key pieces you need to create many looks with just a couple of things!

Jewellery is a part of our everyday routines. We all have those pieces that we wear everyday. The ones we feel empty without. The ones that mean something to us. When I choose jewellery, personalisation is one of the most important parts. I like to pick pieces that represent my personality, that remind me of special moments, that mean something to me! That’s one of the many reasons that I love Thomas Sabo and was so excited to be able to work with them to share how I personalise my jewellery. Personalisation isn’t just about engraving (Although anyone who knows me, knows that I love to engrave my initials on to everything!). It’s also about picking pieces that represent who you are and what makes you happy. Charms are a great way of doing this. I love charms because they are such versatile pieces. You can hang them from a charm bracelet or a necklace, and most of all, they represent you. Thomas Sabo has such a variety of silver charms, there’s something for everyone. I picked an S of course, to represent the first initial of my name, Shloka, and also for the Silk Sneaker! The evil eye is a symbol of protection I have always been drawn to. The stars and moon charm reminds me to never stop dreaming. I like to aim for the stars in everything I do, and nothing should hold me back! Jewellery is personal in more ways than charms. It’s a way for us to express our style. I love when jewellery is able to add subtle and elegant touches to an outfit. It’s what draws a look together, and makes you feel more complete. Layering rings, like this silver ring from Thomas Sabo, is always a great way to do that! I love that every single piece makes my outfit feel more personal, and helps me showcase my personal style. Happy Monday!

Hello everyone! As you saw on my Instagram stories, it’s an “Exhale the Bullshit” kind of Monday. I love Mondays’ because you can start fresh – the whole week on a fresh slate! Why not right? I’m actually getting my hair cut tomorrow because I’m so bored of how drab it’s looking right now! I’m thinking of going for a bit of a shaggy layers kind of look. What do you guys think? I’ve also got a lot of exciting posts coming up this week, including a very special packing post. It’s going to feature one of my favourite brands and it’s all about how to pack those key pieces that you can wear in so many different ways!

My New Favourite Slogan Tee…

Slogan tees are a favourite for 2017 and it doesn’t surprise me one bit. Not only are slogan tee’s a street style favourite, but they are my favourite too! We’ve seen our fair share of slogans with a deeper meaning attached at Dior and Prabal Gurung. We’ve seen logo mania at Gucci and now the options for what you can have emblazoned across your tee are endless. I’ve dipped into all off the above and when I saw this Ganni tee I knew I had to have it. For those of you who didn’t know, I’m actually a massive foodie. I love my food. I love to cook as well and breakfast has to be my favourite meal of the day. My all time favourite breakfast is a croissant and a coffee. Of course, a tee shirt dedicated to croissant is one that I have to have. Croissant, mon amour? Duh! I love that slogan tees are a way for us to express ourselves with fashion in a more obvious way. You can tell the world your thoughts, feelings, likes and dislikes. I love the contrast of mood between the tee and this feminine Isabel Marant skirt. (Another current favourite!) I also have been wearing these Chloe boots on repeat – can anyone else believe that it’s already cold enough for them?! I love the edge they add to any look though so I’m not complaining too much!

My Current Favourite 100ML & Under Travel Beauty Products

Travel Beauty: 100 ML & Under

Recently I took a trip to Barcelona for a dear friends bachelorette. I realised when I was packing that all my beauty products had to be 100 Ml or under! (We had booked a hand baggage fare only!) Much to my surprise I realised that a lot of my favourites, for both short and long haul flights, as well as holidays in general, were under 100 ML! I wanted to share some of my favourites with you right now for your next holiday. In flight beauty can be tricky but with the right products, your skin will always be glowing!

The DHC blotting paper is a favourite for oil build up through the flight but also when you’re out and about on your holiday. Aesop’s face cream and hand balm are both incredibly moisturising and help hydrate your skin when a flight will dry it out. Don’t forget to hydrate your lips with the Dior Lip Glow, which even has a gorgeous tint!

I like a little coverage on my face as well but when I’m on holiday I don’t like to wear foundation. The Bare Minerals BB cream is hydrating and also provides the perfect amount of glow and coverage. Perricone MD has one of the best liquid blushes, that is kind to skin as well and can be doubled up as a liquid eye shadow if you feel like experimenting!

Lastly, travel perfume is a favourite of mine. I usually ask for testers whenever I buy my favourite perfume, but these two that I’ve listed below are both amazing options!
