The 3 Beauty Products I Can’t Live Without When I’m Jet Lag…

No More Puffiness or Dullness!

There is nothing worse than coming back from a relaxing and recharging holiday and having to deal with jet lag. Travel can make your face and body swell up, your dark circles become so much more prominent and make you feel generally exhausted! Having had to go through that myself pretty recently after my flight back from Jamaica, I wanted to share with you the three beauty products that made my travel back to London so much easier. These three products made me feel so much more energetic, and look so much better, regardless of my insane jet lag! What’s great about these three products though, is that they come to use no matter what you may be doing. Had a heavy bank holiday weekend? Then these three products are for you! An insane night out? Don’t worry these will cover you! All nighter? These three products are still the heroes! So as you can see, you need to implement these into your beauty routine stat!

A Jade Roller

If you’re wondering what all the fuss about jade rollers are, let me break it down for you. Using a jade roller on clean skin (You can use it to spread your favourite serum around in the morning or evening) helps to reduce puffiness, increase blood circulation and contribute to brighter, firmer skin. You should see a difference after adding a few minutes with a jade roller to your routine!

I posted this on my Instagram a few weeks ago when I returned from Jamaica. I was battling serious jet lag, puffy eyes and dark circles. The Best Beauty Products You Need By the Beach

The New Beauty Products You Need This Summer

I love sharing my favourite beauty products with you, whether they be the best of luxury beauty or otherwise. Today I wanted to share the best new summer beauty products that I loved (and even finished some of them!) while I was by the beach in Jamaica. All these products are perfect to take care of yourself during the heat and under the summer sun. I’m including the best suncare, including the best SPF and after sun care lotion, my favourite salt spray to get the best beach waves and an amazing serum to keep your skin healthy and glowing. Gisou Honey Hair Oil

I think this is one of my holy grail hair products for sure. I am very particular about what I put on my hair so I would only recommend the best to you. I love this Gisou hair oil because it’s paraben and sulphate free; it’s only full of the good stuff for your hair! You only need a couple of drops to instantly feel the moisture in your hair. I use this everyday in London but I was using it much more in Jamaica to hydrate my hair after sun exposure and the salt water from the ocean!

I bought my second bottle in January and I’m not even half way through it so you know this product lasts a while!

Rituals Suncare Range

This was my first time trying out the Rituals suncare range and I was so pleasantly surprised. Their sunscreen comes in SPF 30 and 50 (I opted for 30) and I loved the milky texture of it. It hydrates your skin while protecting you from UV Rays. It is also water resistant so you know you’ll be protected while you’re in the water!

To all my fellow brown girls, I know that tanning isn’t always our favourite thing but I actually love a good tan! Sometimes we struggle to get that perfect golden colour under the sun but the trick to achieving the perfect tan is having the right after sun care. The Rituals after sun care has aloe vera in it so it’s very soothing and cooling and it also helped me to get the colour I wanted! Five stars to this range!

Gisou Wave Spray

I struggle with wave sprays but the Gisou wave spray works so perfectly in my hair and helps me achieve those amazing beach waves! Again, like all Gisou products, there are no harmful chemicals in here so you know it’s okay to use in your hair! After washing my hair I would spritz this on and then scrunch my hair in a bun for a few hours!

The next day, I had the perfect beach waves! Totally continuing this while I’m in London too!

Perricone MD Cold Plasma +

I’ve recently changed up my skincare routine and it consists of mainly Perricone MD! They are one of the oldest apothecaries in the world so they really know what they are talking about. Their latest product is called Cold Plasma + and is an amazing everyday serum to help brighten and firm your skin. I did their seven day trial while I was away and I got so many compliments about how my skin had an amazing glow! I have this amazing cream to thank for that. I love that it’s quite light weight so it doesn’t clog your pores up in the heat and humidity!

The Ouai Rose Body & Hair Oil

The Ouai is another haircare brand that I love but my favourite product is actually their Rose Body Oil! This oil is multi-purpose so you can use it on your hair too, but I like to use it on my body after the shower in the summer to get glowing skin (make sure you put it on your elbows, collarbone and knees!). It also smells amazing and gives my skin the hydration it needs without being too much!

Another product that I think will become one of your favourites for a long time!

Speaking of The Ouai, the shampoo that I carry on me for beach holidays is their Clean Shampoo! I love it because it isn’t drying on your hair (especially if you have to wash your hair everyday! I don’t usually wash my hair daily but on a beach holiday you have to!) and is also totally paraben and sulphate free!

As I found out on Instagram, a lot of you have holidays coming up to somewhere warm and sunny! Although swimsuit shopping can feel like such an overwhelming task, I actually think it can be quite fun, as you may have seen in my Jamaica Swimwear Diary! What’s more exciting than finally being able to get your tan on in a beautiful, warm, sunny location right? Since my trip to Jamaica was so early on in the summer, I have become very well versed in all the best swimwear trends for 2018. Whether you’re after the perfect one piece, a high waisted bikini, or just something to rank up that Instagram likes, I’ve highlighted the three swimwear trends you need in your resort wardrobe this summer! The High Waisted Bikini

If there’s a swimsuit style that is trending right now, it’s the high waisted bikini. What was once considered an “old” style to wear, the high waisted bikini is now coming in hot with lots of amazing (and super cute!) sets to choose from! This style is especially suited towards petite girls like me. It really makes our legs look elongated and flatters our waists and upper body! I had two high waisted bikinis on my trip; one from Zimmermann and one from Missoni. Both of these are investment pieces but I’ve linked to some more affordable options below as well! Well worth the purchase!

If you’re thinking Baywatch and the most amazing 90’s vibes then the one piece is for you. What I love about this particular swimwear trend is that it’s universally flattering no matter what your body type. I always feel so comfortable in a one piece, and we all know that when you feel confident in something, you are guaranteed to look great in it! My favourite one piece is actually one I invested in last year from Solid & Striped. It’s a timeless style and they have so many amazing ones to choose from. I, more than anyone, am so excited about the massive embrace of colour! You know I love a good bright piece so rainbow striped bikinis were a trend I just had to include! It’s one of those trends that is selling out, and selling out fast so make sure to get your hands on at least one of the pieces I’ve picked out just for you below! If you feel like this trend may be a bit too bright for you, why not try it in pastel tones? Or if you’re not feeling that, go for simple candy stripes (Think this bikini from Next; I was so pleasantly surprised by the quality!)

Monday Update #54

Happy

Happy Monday! It seems like summer has finally arrived and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve had my eye on so many cute summer pieces that I’m so excited to bring out (or add to the wardrobe hehe!) Last week I got to attend the gorgeous Havainas press day; they really brought that Brazilian summer vibe to London! I actually grew up wearing Havainas in India and I still have some of my favourite pairs with me are in London; that includes a pair with pearls all over it! So cute right? It was such a great moment for me to be able to work with a brand that I love so much! Are any of you Havainas lovers?

The High Low Edit: Outfit #1

One of my goals with The Silk Sneaker is to constantly give you guys style inspiration whether that be through styling advice, tips or tricks. One of the key aspects of my style is mixing the best of luxury fashion and the best of the high street to create fashionable and trendy outfits that you can wear on a day to day basis too. That’s why I’m replacing Friday Favourites with a brand new seris called “The High Low Edit”

You can expect a quick dose of inspiration every Friday, where I break down how I created an outfit that I wore previously during the week. I love this Helmut lang hoodie because it works season after season as a great off duty piece. It’s very relaxed and can be styled with virtually anything. This is a great investment piece because the fit is also very flattering!

In terms of the high street finds; This Zara skirt is a winner because of the fabulous button details. The khaki colour means it will last you for more than just one season as well. I’ve had this ASOS waist belt for ages now and it never fails me. It’s one of those high street pieces that looks so much more luxe than it is. Those are the kinds of high street pieces you want to invest in!

My Favourite Beach Make Up Right Now…

When packing for a summer holiday, it’s important to switch up your makeup and beauty routine and make sure that you’re packing the best products for your getaway. Some of us prefer to head to the beach completely make-up free, but others are looking to get that perfect natural make up look at the beach. To do that you need the best sweat resistant and waterproof makeup products, which is why I’ve rounded up my current favourites! Here are my five best beach makeup products that you need this summer and why!

Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation

If you’re looking for a lightweight, sweat resistant foundation that has SPF in it as well, look no further than Perricone MD’s No Foundation Foundation. I’ve spoken about this product multiple times before and I swear by it for a day to day foundation that is light enough to not look cakey. I love that it has SPF 30 in it as well. It’s a great item to put on your face to protect from the sun without clogging up your pores.

Nuxe Body, Face & Hair Shimmer

Throughout my trip, my girlfriends were asking me what the secret to my shimmery legs was. The answer is the Nuxe Body Shimmer! Every night I would apply this to my legs and my collarbones for a very subtle shimmer to my skin. I love this product because unlike other tinted body shimmers, this one does not leave any stains or marks. This is also a great product to keep your tan looking great once you’re back from your holiday. You can also apply this product to your face and your hair.

When you’re on the beach, the last thing you want is powdery products. That’s why I always opt for liquid-based blush. You also want to keep things as minimal as possible, which is why a multipurpose makeup product is also a great option. This YSL Kiss & Blush is perfect for that flush of colour on your cheeks and a dash of colour on your pout!

Tom Ford Lipstick

I think that if you were to walk out on to the beach with only one item of make up, a statement lipstick is what you need. It’s the perfect way to look put together and summery on the beach without trying too hard. My current obsession (and my go-to for my entire trip) was a mix of two Tom Ford shades. The first is this coral orange shade called Contempt I then tone down this shade with the second nude shade, Public Display.

Essie Polish At The Helm

I hate chipped nails, especially on a beach holiday. Sometimes I dont like to apply shellac to my nails because it can make them weak but luckily Essie Polish is a great alternative. With their amazing top coats, the polish doesn’t chip as easy and lasts much longer! This shade is called At The Helm and is my current summer obsession.

With summer finally here, we are all in the midst of planning our summer vacations, which means you are in need of the perfect holiday packing list. If you’re going somewhere warm and sunny like Jamaica or the Carribean (or anywhere with a beach for that matter; that means Italy too!) and are wondering what to pack for a week at the beach, I have got you covered from the perfect holiday outfits, the most adorable sandals and the best summer accessories too. Follow my holiday packing list and you’ll be having your most stylish holiday yet!

Starting with clothes, I’ve rounded up some of my favourite pieces that are perfect for mixing and matching while you’re away. Remember that with every statement or colourful piece, you need a good basic to go with it. Personally, Uniqlo is my favourite spot for affordable and good quality basics. My suitcase to Jamaica was full of white t-shirts and linen shirts, along with these key pieces!

In terms of accessories, I like to go bold and colourful because holidays are the best time to do just that! Don’t be afraid to get creative! For example, use your favourite silk scarf in your hair, or tie it over your bikini as a bandeau top! Paired with a great pair of linen trousers, you are set!

Lastly, the right beauty products are essential when you are in the sun! I’ve linked to my favourite suncare right now, the best after sun care lotion, and some amazing oils to keep you glowing and moisturised without messing your tan!

Everything I Wore in Jamaica: Cute Summer Outfits for 2018

It’s time for the cute summer outfits…

My trip to Jamaica was full of cute swimsuits which you can check out in my swimwear diaries if you haven’t already, but of course, I also packed a lot of cute summer outfits with me too! The key to the perfect summer holiday is, of course, having the best outfits you can have and I wanted to share with you every single look I wore on my vacation to Jamaica! Don’t worry, you can totally wear some of these looks in the city too! I hope my outfits give you all some great inspiration for 2018 summer outfits and I can’t wait to hear what you think in the comments!

We did a lot while we were in Jamaica, which I will cover in more detail over the coming weeks, but my wardrobe needed to be a mix of dresses, cute city outfits and the perfect summer top and pants duos! I of course overpacked, but I always reached for the same sort of mix, a statement piece and a great basic! I can’t wait to hear which outfit is your favourite! Comment below!

Day One

High Street

I knew we were going to a phenomenal view on our first day so I wanted to wear something where the colours would really pop. I wore this super cute Topshop striped midi skirt which I paired with a Uniqlo white t-shirt, my Havainas flip flops and this belt from Zara! I found a similar belt on ASOS here!

Day Two

High Street

I love a good beach maxi dress, especially when it comes in a bold colour. This strapless blue dress from Next is such a great piece for your holiday wardrobe. The colour is fabulous and it’s the perfect piece to just throw on! For all my followers from Bombay, I got these slippers at Joy Shoes at the Taj!

Day Three

High Low Look

On the third day I created a mix of some of my favourite old and new pieces. I paired this new Sandro off shoulder top with an old pair of pleated trousers from Topshop. I completed the look with my Club Monaco earrings, Rayban sunglasses and Havainas flip flops. I’ve linked to similar items so you can create my look too below!

Day Four

High Street

For day four I needed the perfect outfit to wear on the beach but also around town. I am so on it with the rainbow trend right now and had to style these Zara striped trousers! I paired them with a yellow tie front crop top from House of Sunny. Although both these pieces are old, I have linked to some similar ones below!

Day Five

Luxury

On our first day in Port Antonio I just had to wear this dress from my favourite new resortwear brand, Broochini. They hae such a cool girl vibe and this dress is perfect for your next getaway but also for the weekend. Stay tuned for how I style it in London! Day Six

High Low Edit

Another day between the ocean and the city so I needed an outfit to match. I stole this shirt from Shivie and it’s actually from the ASOS Men’s collection ; who knew! I paired it with my favourite white midi skirt and these adorable tie up espadrilles from Havainas. The final touch were my Les Specs cat eye sunglasses which have been selling out like crazy and my favourite bag from Anna Coroneo. I’ve linked to similar and more affordable options below!

Day Seven

Luxury

I love a piece that is worth the investment and this Sandro dress is no exception. I got it two years ago and I still love it to bits. The lace inserts make it the perfect dress for the summer! Although this particular one is not available anymore, I found a very similar and more affordable one here. I’ve also linked to some more options below!

Day Eight

New Designer

I love discovering new designers, especially from my home town of Mumbai, India. One of my favourite finds is Deme by Gabriella; the ultimate cool girl brand! She makes the cutest and most beautiful dresses and this one is no exception. I love the print, the colour and the contrasting lengths. Needless to say, I felt very glam in it! I’m back from sunny Jamaica and although the jet lag is brutal, I am so excited to share all the amazing moments and outfits from my trip.
