My Jamaica Swimwear Diary: The Best Swimsuits for 2018

The Best Swimsuits for 2018…

Summer is finally here and I couldn’t be happier because it means it’s time to get your holiday wardrobe in order! As you may know, I was in Jamaica at the start of this month and I was so excited to finally get all my favourite swimsuits for 2018 out. What better way to start sharing my trip with you, than to share a little look into all my favourite, and what I think are the best swimsuits for 2018! There is something for everyone from the cutest high street finds to my favourite luxury pieces that I think are worth the splurge. I hope you also find some summer inspiration on how to style your swimsuits through my summer holiday outfits! So, here’s a look at all the swimwear I was rocking in the Jamaican sunshine. Day One: The Chic One Piece

On our first day there, I opted for a stylish and classic one piece from one of my favourite swimwear brands, Solid & Striped. Day Two: Candy Stripes

I am totally obsessed with stripes this season and this striped bikini is no exception. I wore this on day two and was so impressed with the quality of this swimsuit. Day Three: The Frill Bikini

We went to a local beach on day three where I wore this pink frilled Topshop bikini. I love the delicate frilled details on the top; another super flattering piece. This is from last season, but it’s still available in baby pink and they also made a frill bikini in baby blue. For more options see below!

Day Four: The New Designer

You all know how much I love discovering new designers and Hunza G is my latest crush. They are a London based company who make the cutest swimwear. I particularly love this bikini becuase of the tortoise shell detail and the terry fabric. Plus, the colour is mind blowing! I got this one from Koi Bird, a swimwear pop up in Marylebone which is very much worth checking out if you have a trip coming up!

Day Five: The Classic Bikini

If you’re looking for a flattering, classic bikini worth investing in, look to Heidi Klein. Her styles are cut to perfection and her prints will last you season after season. This stripe bikini for example, would never go out of style! You guys were loving it on Instagram and I’m sure it’s because Heidi Klein has the best cuts!

Day Six: The Rainbow Touch

Another amazing piece from Solid & Striped! I picked this piece up right before I left for Jamaica and I am so glad I did. The colours look amazing against a tan and the style is also really comfortable. I wore this when we went river rafting down the Rio Grande! Day Seven: The Show Stopper

I bought this Zimmermann swimsuit back in January and have been waiting to wear it since then. I was so excited to finally share it with you all on this trip to Jamaica. Everything about this swimsuit is beautiful, from the detailing of the flowers on the bottom, the chic waist belt, the high waisted style and the off shoulder top! If there was ever a swimsuit worth the splurge, this is it. Of course, I’ve linked to a few more affordable options of high waisted swimsuits below!

Day Eight: The Iconic Piece

The Missoni print is unmistakable and if you’re looking to expand your luxury swimsuit collection, investing in a Missoni piece is well worth it. The other pro about investing in a Missoni swimsuit is that they are timeless and last forever. It’s a print that will never go out of style so you know you’re getting your money’s worth! I opted for a high waisted style again. It’s very flattering for petite girls like me! I’ve linked to some more affordable printed options below.

Day Nine: The Surprise

You know when you look at a swimsuit and you aren’t sure if it’s going to look that great, but you suddenly put it on and fall in love with the style? This black bikini from Frankie Swimwear was exactly that. I wasnt’ sure if I was going to love the one shoulder style but once I put it on I felt so chic! It’s a very minimal yet bold style and something that anyone can rock! This one is available on The Bikini Project; a website that just launched today!

My 3 Post Gym Beauty Essentials

Your Gym Bag Isn’t Complete Without These Beauty Products

It’s no secret that I’m a total spinning junkie. It’s one of my favourite workouts. I spend so much time cleansing my skin and prepping it for my workout, that sometimes it’s so easy to forget how to take care of your skin after a workout! What happens after you exercise is as important for your skin as before, and my gym bag is never without these three beauty essentials to keep my skin looking fresh and glowy after a good workout!

The first thing I like to do after a workout is, wash my face with a non-stripping cleanser. I need something that will clean my face and take off the bad bacteria, without taking away anything good! The worst thing to do is to not wash your face as this can cause clogged pores! My favourite cleanser right now is the Nutritive Cleanser from Perricone MD. It is seriously a game changer, it even takes off my make up!

There’s nothing worse than sweaty gym hair after a workout. A lot of the time there is no real time to wash your hair, but you don’t want smelly hair either right? I rely on my Ouai Dry Shampoo Foam to keep my hair in check and looking clean and fresh. The foam texture really makes it feel as though my hair is getting a good quick clean. The best part is that it doesn’t leave any tint behind either like some dry shampoos. A total must have product!

I never leave without a little touch of SPF to my face. My Photo Plasma moisturiser from Perricone MD mattifies my face while protecting me from any harsh UV rays with an SPF of up to 30. This is not only an essential after a work out at the gym, but a daily essential too! This cream protects from any harsh environemtnal factors that can come up while living in a city, including pollution and toxins! A total game changer!

How To Style That Cute Summer Top for A Casual City Look

Although the rain may be pouring down in London this week, there is no denying that summer is well on its way, which means it’s time to get your summer wardrobe in order and make the most of those cute summer tops! If you’re thinking those white off the shoulder blouses and wrap around shirts are just for the beach, you’re wrong! I always believe in making the most of your wardrobe and finding ways to wear your favourite summer holiday pieces in your city too! That’s the way to guarantee no shortage of summer outfits! Here’s how to style that adorable summer top for your next day out on the town!

This Esse Vie white, off shoulder blouse, is perfect for a day in the sun in the likes of Capri or Cannes, but it’s equally adorable for a casual summer day outfit too! I wanted to pair this summer blouse with something edgier, so I opted for a layered leather skirt. I love that the layers of the skirt still make the outfit quite feminine, but the leather adds that perfect contrast!

A Homemade Acne Treatment To Get Rid of Pimples Overnight…

Pimples, Be Gone!

I’ve struggled with acne for a long time. For a while, I just accepted it even though it drove me insane. I would break down in front of my mirror looking at my scarring and all the new boils I had coming up. Recently though, I have taken control of my skin care routine and have been working hard at improving my skin. So many of you have been asking me what I’ve changed and how I’ve improved it. Over the next few months, I will be sharing my new and improved skin care routine, the knowledge I’ve learned and what products I’ve been using to combat my acne and improve my complexion. One of the first things I did, was look for a homemade acne treatment. I wanted a home remedy to acne because I have always been more comfortable with natural ingredients. What I found has helped me improve my acne overnight.

My dermatologist from India had recently released a book (you can get it here, it’s full of amazing beauty tips and information about all the ingredients you need or should not use!) In it, he reveals the best acne treatment, which also happens to be an overnight acne treatment! The best part is, it only requires two ingredients!

What you need:
– Tea Tree Oil (also known as Melaleuca)
– Fast Acting Yeast Powder

Create a paste using tea tree oil and fast acting yeast powder. The paste will be slightly bitty and will look something like the image of me above with it on my cheeks!

Apply on your pimples before you sleep and let it dry. The yeast powder helps to draw a pimple up to the surface and the tea tree oil starts to work on it. Tea tree oil is a great natural remedy for acne.

I sometimes apply just pure tea tree oil on pimples in the day as well, to work on them and shrink them over time. Depending on the size of your pimple, you might see an immediate result, or it may take a few nights, but this at home acne treatment is perfect for treating those pesky pimples!

If You’re Weary of Florals, This Easy Spring Outfit Trick Will Change Your Mind…

Floral Can Be Groundbreaking…

I have a confession to make. Up until very recently, I wasn’t a fan of floral printed tops. I couldn’t imagine creating summer outfits based on floral prints. Although summer outfits on Tumblr and Pinterest were full of this much-loved print, I wasn’t getting on the bandwagon; enter the cutest floral top I had ever seen. On one of my recent trips to Topshop, I discovered an adorable selection of floral blouses. Perfect for spring, perfect for summer, the floral blouse was suddenly becoming the key piece in so many summer outfit ideas I lost count! So much so, that I knew I had to share this with you! So, if you’re like me and need a bit of guidance on how to make floral patterns work for you this summer, here are my three tips!

1. Pick your print wisely.
When it comes to prints, are you a go big or go home sort of person or a more minimal the better type? If you’re just delving into the world of floral prints, try something that is a little smaller and less overwhelming. It’s easier to style and I guarantee is great to ease into this print! That’s why I love this Topshop floral off shoulder top so much. It’s so easy to style because the print is so small! (Mine is sold out but there is one similar here)

2. Take note of colours
A pattern might look fabulous on you, but if the colour is all wrong then it’s not going to work! Make sure the colour combinations are flattering. This is one of the key factors that can make a print look super luxe, or the complete opposite, regardless of where it’s from! I opted for darker colours because I felt they were more flattering but I’ve been eyeing some lighter floral pieces too! I’ve linked to them in the little carousel below! 3. Pair it well
If you’re wearing a print, be aware of what you are matching it with! Although print on print is not unheard off, it can be challenging to match two florals together well. I like to keep the rest of my pieces understated and if I really feel like I want to add another element, I go for it with accessories. I love these high waisted pants with this top as the looser cut adds a great contrast to the tight fit of the blouse! I added my favourite Gucci Bee Bag for another element of surprise!
