You Won’t Be Able To Stop Wearing This Skirt This Spring…

The Spring Skirt Your Closet Wants & Needs….

I hear we are dealing with what is called the “beast from the east” here in London with the weather dropping to shiver status. I more than anyone am ready to abandon my puffer jacket and ear muffs (yes, it’s so cold I am wearing ear muffs..) and start wearing spring clothes but I think we are going to have to wait another week for that! That being said, it doesn’t mean that we can’t get ahead of the next season right? I’m here to constantly inspire you with the content I create at TSS and to always give you the confidence and style inspiration to be the most stylish you can be! That’s why, I’m already starting to round up the spring outfit ideas for you, starting with this one! This is the one skirt you will not be able to stop wearing this spring.

Tweed is timeless, classy and always in style (think Chanel!). Mix your tweed piece with a retro print and voila, you have this beautiful skirt right here. With the rise of retro prints and two-piece sets coming back with a bang, this skirt is such a steal, so in fashion, and also incredibly versatile! Pair it with your favourite thigh high boots and knit like I have here when the weather gets a bit warmer of course! You can also take this into spring by pairing it with a chic button-down shirt, or your favourite statement tee! The options are endless, but one thing is for sure, you need this skirt!

Remember, even with a great skirt like this one, accessories are key! I’m a huge fan of the baker boy hat. I never thought it would suit me but to my surprise I loved it and I bet you will too! I got this leather look one from Topshop but found an even cuter one from ASOS here! Will you be wearing this skirt this spring?

Happy

For those of you who are in the UK, you would have woken up to a snowy Monday morning! No matter how many times I see snow, I still find as magical as ever! It was such a beautiful way to start the day! I know that the weather forecast has us in for an extremely cold week, but that isn’t stopping me from looking forward to spring! I’m one of those freaks who’s looked at the extended weather forecast and I know the weather is getting better in a week or two so let’s get ahead of it and be ready for when the sunshine comes! I hate not knowing what to wear when the weather has changed, don’t you?

This One Trick Will Make Every Outfit You Wear Perfect

Fashion blogger Shloka Narang of The Silk Sneaker shares her secret trick to making every outfit look perfect with this spring outfit idea featuring Isabel Marant Etoile and Chanel

The Trick To Make Every Outfit A Great One…

Whether you believe it or not, spring will have sprung in London before you know it. Although we are battling with cold windy days right now, this past weekend teased sunshine and beautiful weather to come! So what better time to start stocking up spring outfit ideas than now right? Although it can be incredibly tricky to transition your winter wardrobe into spring, there is one trick I always follow when I’m creating the perfect outfit. Today I’m going to share this with you so that you can get that perfect confident look whenever you walk out the door!

When creating my outfits, I always choose my feature piece and style around it. That means, there is always one piece that determines everything else in the look. Once you’ve found that star piece, whether it’s your favourite white shirt, a gorgeous bag, or some super sleek trousers, the rest will follow. This also saves me a lot of time in the morning! For example, with this outfit, I knew I wanted to wear this gorgeous sweater. I love the colour and the stripe detailing on it. Once I had my star piece, the rest was easy. I paired it with a black skirt because it’s finally time to get those skirts out! This one is an old Claudie Pierlot piece that I still love, but you can find a similar one here. I loved the colours that I had going, so I matched the look with this khaki clutch and my thigh high black boots.

The key to making that transition from winter to spring is to use pieces from both wardrobes! I’ve paired a knit and thigh high boots with a spring skirt and a bright clutch. The secret here is to create the perfect balance between the two seasons! Look at that, I’ve let you in on two style secrets today!

What is your secret to the perfect outfit?

My London Fashion Week Diary [February 2018]

It’s Time For

Another year, another fashion week! London Fashion Week took place this past weekend and the capital was flooded with amazing street style, fabulous runway shows and lots of amazing events. I was so excited because this year I got to attend the most beautiful Bora Aksu show, an amazing event with The Clck and of course today I’m going to share it all with you! If there is anything I’ve learned about fashion week, it’s that it’s a marathon, not a sprint! One day into it and I was already exhausted! I’ve linked to some of my favourite essentials below as well! Although it looks like the most glamorous event, there’s a lot of hard work and planning that goes into it. Even so, it really is all worth it!

BORA AKSU

My day started with my most anticipated event, the Bora Aksu runway show. The designer took his inspiration from a famous Georgian surgeon. She was one of the first women in her field, but had to dress like a man to do her job. The collection highlighted this contrast through it’s use of masculine silhouettes with feminine touches. (Think waist belts, pops of pink and ruffles) as well as it’s beautiful lace and sheer dresses and floral patterns. The whole collection blew me away and there really was no better way to start the day!

The @bora_aksu collection was inspired by a female Georgian surgeon who pretended to be a man to do her job. With a mix of masculine silhouettes, playful colours and feminine lace and ruffles, the collection was gorgeous 💕 • • • #fashion #lfw #londonfashionweek #video #fashionvideo #boraaksu #fblogger #londonblogger #london #luxuryblogger #fashionfilm #love

WHAT I WORE

This fashion week I really did not want to dress for the cameras. I wanted to dress for myself. What is personal style, if not for yourself? I think it is so easy to be overwhelmed by the street style and wanting to be noticed, however at the end of the day, if you aren’t true to yourself there is no point. I think this outfit is really “me”. I found this gorgeous green suede duster from Jovonna London at Topshop a few months ago. Paired with my favourite pattern, plaid of course, and some of my must have accessories, I knew this was going to be a winner! My final touch was my brand new lip colour from Nars. It’s called Hell Gate! It’s one of the few reds that I actually love and recommend.

THE CLCK LUNCH

I finished off my day with an amazing blogger lunch held by The Clck at the Me Hotel London. It’s the perfect spot at fashion week because it’s right next to all the shows! We had the most photogenic lunch, with champagne, amazing views of London and lots of girl gang photo ops! I even got to hang out with some of my favourite bloggers from London and around the world! It was the perfect way to end the day!

The Prettiest Cafes in London

Fashion blogger Shloka Narang of The Silk Sneaker showcases some of the most Instagrammable cafes in London

They Look As Good As They Taste…

In an age of Instagram, what it looks like is as important as what it tastes like! As much as I love my food, I am guilty of secretly loving a place for looking beautiful as well and I know I’m not the only one. Today I wanted to share with you some of Londons most  “instagrammable” cafes. If Instagram isn’t your game though, this list is just five of the prettiest cafes in London that are just worth a visit! Whether it’s for the gram, a day out, a dose of inspiration or just a damn good cup of coffee, these five places will not fail you!

Peggy Porschen

The lines are long and the place is small but Peggy Porschen is worth the wait. Not only is the entrance to this little cafe famous (you would have to be living under a rock to not have seen this on your feed at some point) but the cupcakes are so incredibly yummy! My favourite is the strawberries and champagne cupcake. If I were to ever break my sugar rule, this would be one of the things I would do it for! Plus I love when something tastes as good as it grams!

Fashion blogger Shloka Narang of The Silk Sneaker showcases some of the most Instagrammable cafes in London

Elan Cafe Knightsbridge

The latest spot to hit London is Elan cafe Knightsbridge. Although Elan has it’s original branch in Mayfair, it’s latest Knightsbridge opening is one of the prettiest places I’ve ever been. If you’re wondering where the famous cafe with the flower wall is, you’ve just found it. Complete with pink croissants, blue latte’s and overall, just some yummy food, Elan is another gorgeous spot that makes it feel like it’s springtime in London all year round. Plus, anywhere with fun neon signs is great in my book!

The Ivy Chelsea Garden

The Ivy is always a must visit, whether you go to their Tower Bridge restaurant, the Marylebone cafe, or the original in Chelsea. Regardless of whether they have their famous flower door on display or not, it’s a gorgeous spot to sit and enjoy your coffee or a glass of wine. I would highly recommend visiting when the weather is warmer! That’s when it really shines!

Fashion blogger Shloka Narang of The Silk Sneaker showcases some of the most Instagrammable cafes in London

Dalloway Terrace

What I love about Dalloway terrace is that it changes with the seasons. During the winter it’s a glorious winter wonderland, in the spring, it’s a stunning garden. Regardless of when you go you can’t resist the gorgeous striped cups and the warm interiors. It makes you want to sit there all day long! Plus, the food is super yummy! Although I’m not an avocado on toast kind of girl (shock and horror, I don’t like avocado), I hear it’s pretty good!

Sketch

Sketch is an incredibly famous London spot for tea, drinks, dinner and everything else. Each room has something new to offer, even the bathrooms. If you can manage a tea here, it’s well worth it, but otherwise I suggest just dropping in for a drink! Be sure to take a round of their famous pink tea room and stop by the futuristic bathroom! You won’t be sorry!

Fashion blogger Shloka Narang of The Silk Sneaker showcases some of the most Instagrammable cafes in London

Of course, there are so many more gorgeous spots in London. Two that I would also highly recommend would be NAC (stands for North Audley Canteen) for their amazing food and adorable interiors, and Aubaine Selfridges because it’s just stunning with the hanging lavender and lilac vibes.

What are your favourite London cafes?

The Best Foundation For Sensitive Acne-Prone Skin

Fashion blogger Shloka Narang of The Silk Sneaker shares the best foundation for acne prone sensitive skin

If You Get Acne, You Are Not Alone…

I have incredibly sensitive, acne-prone skin. It’s something I’ve suffered from for a majority of my teenage years and although I’ve found that my skin has gotten a lot better with certain changes, It’s still an issue I battle. One of the biggest changes in my skin came when I changed my make up. Not all makeup, or foundations, are good for sensitive, acne-prone skin. In fact, some of them inflame this kind of skin type further! That is why over the years I’ve had the chance to try and test the very best and the very worst foundations for acne prone skin and today I wanted to share my three favourites with you.

In addition to the three that I have highlighted below, I’m going to be trying out the new Giorgio Armani foundation over the next month as I’ve heard wonderful things about it, especially from people who have a similar skin type to mine. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on my findings! I do know for sure though that the three foundations I have highlighted below, worked the best for my very sensitive skin and I was able to see a difference in my complexion pretty quickly. Scroll down to find out my favourite foundations!

Fashion blogger Shloka Narang of The Silk Sneaker shares the best foundation for acne prone sensitive skin

Dior Star Foundation

For special occasions, nights out, or just on a wonderful sunny day, I always prefer a slightly dewy finish. By dewy, I do not mean oily, but rather more of a glow. This Dior foundation does exactly that while being kind to the skin. It’s the best way to achieve that natural glow you’re after. In terms of coverage, I find that this covers most of my pigments and scars and has a strong coverage. It creates a flawless finish that makes me feel so confident without the fear of a break out!

Get it here

Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation

This is my everyday choice. The Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation comes from one of the oldest apothecaries in the world. The original formula comes in only two shades, If that sounds scary to you, it’s actually not! The foundation works with the natural colour of your skin and blends in seamlessly. It’s also a formula that works on your skin while you wear it, improving your complexion and your appearance. This is what I usually have on in my Instagram photos, and has quickly become one of the products I can’t do without. It’s a buildable foundation but if you’re looking for stronger coverage, use it with the No concealer concealer from Perricone!

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue

When I first moved to London, this was the first foundation I discovered that actually worked well with my skin. It worked so well that one of my best friends started to use it as well! To be fair, it’s more of a tinted moisturiser than a foundation but I find that it still does the trick! It provides a dewy finish and although it does not offer full coverage, it is buildable so you can continue to apply it on concern spots until you feel it’s fully covered! I loved that when I did that, it never looked cakey! I wear shade Tan 07
