A Few Tips For Petite Girls…

A lot of you have reached out to me, expressing how much you wish you could recreate a look, like my spring outfit ideas, but you feel you are too petite for it. What shocks you, even more, is when you learn that I’m actually incredibly petite myself! My love for fashion and sharing through my blog has given me the confidence to be fearless with my style and never let my height hold me back, but of course, that wasn’t always the case! Through the years I’ve learned some tips and tricks for creating the perfect petite outfits. So if you’re a petite girl like me and you wish you could rock that oversized coat in an outfit, guess what? You can! Today I’m sharing my latest spring outfit inspiration, along with some special tips for how you can create some stylish petite outfits for spring without being afraid of your oversized pieces!

1. Add definition
I love this oversized duster coat however when I wear it on it’s own I tend to get lost. The best way to make sure you don’t look smaller in your outfits is to add definition. I’ve done that here with a waist belt, which helps highlight my silhouette! PS: Do you recognise this duster from my London Fashion Week Diary?

2. Add some height
Since petite girls aren’t the tallest, a lot of those amazing robes, kimonos and dusters can be a bit too long for us! That’s why I find that the best way to pull them off is to add a bit of height. I’m wearing one of my favourite heels from Valentino! I loved how the different shades of greens worked so well together!

3. Show some skin
Since I paired this long sleeve duster with trousers, I decided to wear it slightly off the shoulder so that you could get a glimpse of my shoulders. By showing some skin when you are petite, it stops your outfit from becoming too overpowering for your figure! It’s a great way to look taller and more defined!

What are your tips for petite girls? Are you petite like me?

My London Fashion Week Diary [February 2018]

It’s Time For

Another year, another fashion week! London Fashion Week took place this past weekend and the capital was flooded with amazing street style, fabulous runway shows and lots of amazing events. I was so excited because this year I got to attend the most beautiful Bora Aksu show, an amazing event with The Clck and of course today I’m going to share it all with you! If there is anything I’ve learned about fashion week, it’s that it’s a marathon, not a sprint! One day into it and I was already exhausted! I’ve linked to some of my favourite essentials below as well! Although it looks like the most glamorous event, there’s a lot of hard work and planning that goes into it. Even so, it really is all worth it!

BORA AKSU

My day started with my most anticipated event, the Bora Aksu runway show. The designer took his inspiration from a famous Georgian surgeon. She was one of the first women in her field, but had to dress like a man to do her job. The collection highlighted this contrast through it’s use of masculine silhouettes with feminine touches. (Think waist belts, pops of pink and ruffles) as well as it’s beautiful lace and sheer dresses and floral patterns. The whole collection blew me away and there really was no better way to start the day!

The @bora_aksu collection was inspired by a female Georgian surgeon who pretended to be a man to do her job. With a mix of masculine silhouettes, playful colours and feminine lace and ruffles, the collection was gorgeous 💕 • • • #fashion #lfw #londonfashionweek #video #fashionvideo #boraaksu #fblogger #londonblogger #london #luxuryblogger #fashionfilm #love

WHAT I WORE

This fashion week I really did not want to dress for the cameras. I wanted to dress for myself. What is personal style, if not for yourself? I think it is so easy to be overwhelmed by the street style and wanting to be noticed, however at the end of the day, if you aren’t true to yourself there is no point. I think this outfit is really “me”. I found this gorgeous green suede duster from Jovonna London at Topshop a few months ago. Paired with my favourite pattern, plaid of course, and some of my must have accessories, I knew this was going to be a winner! My final touch was my brand new lip colour from Nars. It’s called Hell Gate! It’s one of the few reds that I actually love and recommend.

THE CLCK LUNCH

I finished off my day with an amazing blogger lunch held by The Clck at the Me Hotel London. It’s the perfect spot at fashion week because it’s right next to all the shows! We had the most photogenic lunch, with champagne, amazing views of London and lots of girl gang photo ops! I even got to hang out with some of my favourite bloggers from London and around the world! It was the perfect way to end the day!
