TSS Update: June

Happy

Summer is here people! I repeat, summer is here! Grab your beautiful summer dresses, your favourite hats and let’s get to it! (Don’t forget the rosé) June is an exciting month because I’ll be attending my first ever international press trip with an amazing haircare brand. I cannot wait to learn more about their products and also see the amazing things they do to give back to the environment.

I also will be attending a wedding of two dear friends and I cannot wait to celebrate their love! It also happens to be taking place in a city I’ve never been too so I’m excited to also create some travel related content for you guys and share more on that front.

On a more personal note, I feel like May was a month of emotional growth. I was nominated for the Blogosphere awards under Blogger of The Year. I didn’t win the prize this year but I did feel that the blogger who won truly deserved it. I also felt so honoured to even be nominated so early on in my career alongside people who are so established in the industry. There was so much to take away, and to further inspire me. I can’t wait to keep going and doing more for myself and for you guys.

Another thing that happened this month is that I had a lot of realisations in relation to a topic that I feel really strongly about; diversity. I am not using that word in a buzz word sort of sense and there is so much I have to say about the way it’s being tossed around right now but you’ll have to stay tuned for that as well.

What are you up to this June?

Okay, what can you NOT see in this photo? Behind every beautiful shot there is a story – and here’s this one. When we were in The Cotswolds, we drove by countless of these beautiful yellow fields. We kept thinking, how beautiful would it be to capture this moment? But I kept avoiding it. WHY? // Because I’m honestly so afraid of bees! 🐝 I was so afraid of all the flying insects, the pollen extravaganza waiting to attack my sinuses and on some level, creating a shot that maybe you guys wouldn’t actually like. BUT, you know what? // We got out of the car and we went for it. Luckily there were no bees, I’ve got an anti histamine for my hay fever and I hope you guys do like the shot! Remember that the hard work is worth it – and that there’s always a solution to the problem 💪🏽

Trust me, posing on a swing is much harder than it looks 🙊 The O by NARS experience was seriously amazing, with each room showing us a new surprise! In regards to the collection, I have been completely hooked! [SWIPE TO SEE MY COMPLETE NARS LOOK!] My favourite is of course the cult blush, the new highlighter and the amazing afterglow lip balm 💕 the best part though is how well it suits Indian skin tones like mine! @narsissist {gifted} #TheOByNARS #narsissist // TAP for outfit tags 💗

4 Things You Have To Do When You Visit Jamaica

Fashion and Travel blogger Shloka Narang of The Silk Sneaker shares her four best things to do in Jamaica

The Insider Tips To Seeing Jamaica Like The Locals Do…

Visiting Jamaica was one of the highlights of my summer this year and summer has just begun! This beautiful country has so much to offer, from fabulous food, nature, sun, sea and sand! If you are planning a trip to Jamaica this summer or this December, I’ve put together four things to do in Jamaica that you just cannot miss out on. These are not four things that every tourist is recommended, these were three of my favourite spots, all shown to me by one of my best friends who also happens to have grown up there! That’s how you know that you’re going for an authentic experience!

Lime Cay

In the middle of the sea is a secluded floating island with nothing and no one on it. It is literally an untouched paradise with beautiful blue water all around. This is Lime Cay. You can start your morning by taking a boat out to the island (you can arrange for the same boat to come pick you up!) and spend a wonderful morning and afternoon on this beautiful island. Pack everything you need with you though because there is literally nothing else on it! Private beach anyone?

EITS Cafe

One of the most beautiful views I got of Jamaica was on our very first day there when we went up to EITS Cafe; which stands for Europe in the Summer. In the middle of the beautiful Jamaican mountains, there is this tiny cafe with lovely food, an incredibly friendly owner and a view that will take your breath away. I highly recommend ordering the rum punch when you’re out there too! It’s fabulous! Don’t forget the plantain and the rice and beans on the side!

Port Antonio

When most people plan a trip to Jamaica, they think of Montego Bay. Instead of doing what everyone is doing, why not try something different but equally as beautiful; Port Antonio. You go to Port Antonio to do nothing but relax and swim! We stayed in a stunning villa which you can also rent as well. Here are all the details on it. If you’d rather stay in a hotel, The Trident is the local boutique hotel in the area. It also happens to be where Beyonce stayed and if it’s good enough for Queen Bee, it’s good enough for us all!

Rafting Down The Rio Grande River

Another amazing experience is taking the rafts down the rio grande river. Don’t worry, this is not an extreme sport. Sit back and relax while your raft is guided down this beautiful, un touched river. You can stop for lunch on the bank of the Rio Grande for a specially cooked local lunch as well. This was one of my favourite days in Jamaica!

This happens in Port Antonio!

The Holiday Packing List: What to Pack for The Caribbean

Fashion blogger Shloka Narang of The Silk Sneaker shares cute summer outfits for 2018 from her latest trip to Jamaica featuring Topshop, Next and Sandro

The Perfect Holiday Packing List…

Editors Note: To see all the swimwear I wore on my trip to Jamaica click here. To see all the outfits I wore on my trip to Jamaica, click here!

With summer finally here, we are all in the midst of planning our summer vacations, which means you are in need of the perfect holiday packing list. If you’re going somewhere warm and sunny like Jamaica or the Carribean (or anywhere with a beach for that matter; that means Italy too!) and are wondering what to pack for a week at the beach, I have got you covered from the perfect holiday outfits, the most adorable sandals and the best summer accessories too. Follow my holiday packing list and you’ll be having your most stylish holiday yet!

Starting with clothes, I’ve rounded up some of my favourite pieces that are perfect for mixing and matching while you’re away. Remember that with every statement or colourful piece, you need a good basic to go with it. Personally, Uniqlo is my favourite spot for affordable and good quality basics. My suitcase to Jamaica was full of white t-shirts and linen shirts, along with these key pieces!

In terms of accessories, I like to go bold and colourful because holidays are the best time to do just that! Don’t be afraid to get creative! For example, use your favourite silk scarf in your hair, or tie it over your bikini as a bandeau top! Paired with a great pair of linen trousers, you are set!

Lastly, the right beauty products are essential when you are in the sun! I’ve linked to my favourite suncare right now, the best after sun care lotion, and some amazing oils to keep you glowing and moisturised without messing your tan!

What is on your holiday packing list? Do you have any holidays coming up this summer? Should I make a little printable version for you guys? Let me know in the comments below!

Zermatt Travel Diary

Sometimes you just need to switch off, take a train up to a mountain town and relax. This is exactly what my little trip to Zermatt was about! Spending time with the people I love while mentally rejuvenating so that I could get back in touch with my balance and come back to producing some amazing content.

We took the most scenic train ride up to the mountains. I had my very own ‘Girl On the Train’ Moment, the fashion version of course. I was wearing a Helmut Lang Sweater, Topshop tights, Louis Vuitton Boots and a Valentino Scarf.

We got to explore the town a bit. I loved that the cute windows on the buildings matched my outfit!

I opted for mountain cozy for this look with an ASOS Sweater, Zara pants and my Louis Vuitton boots.

We also discovered the coolest sunglasses store, Mykita! All the sunglasses were limited edition and after much deliberation over which pair exactly, I got one!

Of course, everywhere you looked the view was beyond beautiful! We trekked up a bit to go to one of the best restaurants in Zermatt, Chez Vrony

Until next time Zermatt!

Venice: Where to Eat, Drink & Play

Italy charmed me long ago when I fell in love with Capri. It managed to do it all over again, this time in Venice. Luring me with promises of gelato, my weight in spaghetti and stunning views (all these promises were fulfilled), Venice stole my heart. Theres nothing quite as satisfying as getting lost in the little colourful streets, the bridges over the canals, or over a glass of Aperol Spritz. With art and culture pouring out at every corner, there’s never a dull moment in this lagoon city.

No matter what corner we turned or bridge we crossed, there was always a beautiful view waiting for us!

guidetovenice_thesilksneaker_6

Explored Venice’s little streets on our second day in my favourite Self-Portrait top. Plus I found a boater hat on the streets of Venice that I have been hunting for, for ages!

For the best Lobster spaghetti around, try this beautiful restaurant called La Calcina on the water – if its squid ink spaghetti you’re after, look no further than Al Mascaron!

If you’re a lover of modern art, you must check out the Peggy Guggenheim collection – stunning, especially the Andy Warhol piece!

For the best gelato – try La Boutique del Gelato -my favourite flavour there was a mix of chocolate, honey and rum. It’s called Caribe! For a more scenic view, try Nicos!

On our third day I opted for this Free People dress – I love dresses in the summer, especially on a vacation! They are so easy and I love the embroidery on this one. It was the perfect gondola dress too!
