Location: Mortimer Street

DryBy was mentioned in my previous instalment of this series as a place to get your hair done, but it’s also famous for being one of the best places to get a manicure in London. It’s quick and easy and they also have a gorgeous nail art selection. Their express manicure starts from £25 and their regular manicures start from £40. It’s also an incredibly beautiful place so you’ll want to get your phone out to document it on Instagram!

Location: All Over!

Cowshed is one of my favourite spa’s in London and they also happen to provide an incredibly relaxing experience when it comes to getting a manicure and pedicure. They have fabulous coffee and TV’s playing your favourite shows so you can really kick back and enjoy some serious you time! Their prices start from £35 for a manicure and they are located all over London, including in Selfridges itself!

This is one of the newer nail salons to hit London but is still incredibly cool. Loved by editors and celebrities alike, Townhouse offers manicures from £35. They even have a really cute little Photo Booth for your nails where you can photograph your adorable manicure and share it to Instagram! They also offer nail art so another great place to hit up if you’re looking for something special for the holiday season!

Location: Soho

I recently was able to have my nails done by one of the Wah nails specialists and I was so happy with my manicure! Wah is really known for their fabulous nail art and you can literally come in and get anything you could possibly want done! Their prices start from £25 and they are located in the heart of Soho.

If you’re in a real rush and you need something quick and easy then you need to try one of the Nails Inc express counters. The ones I’ve used before are the ones in Selfridges and in Harvey Nichols. They are quick, efficient and have a wide range of colours to choose from. Perfect for the girl on the go!

This lipstick changes colour according to your pH level when you wear it! It turns from yellow to a pinky peach! How cool is that?

I feel like everyone is in the mood for love. Whether that be with your SO, your girlfriends or even self love (which is so important so if you’re gonna practice anything this V-Day let it at least be some self love!) my Friday favourites are all about adding that little extra dose of “<3” to your day! Below I’ve got the perfect red dress for V-Day and you will not believe how affordable it is! I’ve even found the perfect lip shade, nail shade and the prettiest fragrance! When I spotted this dress on Revolve I was immediately obsessed. The back details on it are gorgeous and what’s even better? Its under £50!

I mean how amazing is that? It’s gorgeous, its affordable and it’s the perfect dress for V-Day and beyond!

I’ve battled with the red lip for sometime now. Trying to find that perfect shade is not easy! This V-Day why not try something a little darker but still universally flattering? My go to statement lip is always the same; Charlotte Tilbury Birkin Brown.

How to Make Your Nail Polish Last

 

Making your nail polish last is easier than it seems…

How many times have you given yourself the perfect manicure only to have it chipped? It’s so frustrating right? I have forever been in search of how to make nail polish last longer, how to make that manicure stay perfect for longer, just how to make the manicure look good for the week right? I’ve looked far and wide and tried all the tricks in the book to share the top five tips to making your nail polish last! Let’s get started shall we? Brushes at the ready!

File Right

The first step to making that manicure last is to get the basics right. Filing isn’t just impromptu motions on your finger nails like they do in the movies. Try and mimic the shape of your cuticle bed on your nails. This stops your nails from chipping!

Focus on the Edge

When applying a base coat (which is super important by the way! Never skip a base coat!) apply an extra coat just to the tips of your nails. This is the part of your nail that always gives way first so applying an extra base coat layer there is sure to secure your nail polish for longer!

Dry Time

Be sure to give your nails the appropriate amount of time to dry! I know that it seems dry after about 5 minutes, but it’s not! Think about all the layers you have on your nails, so you need to make sure that it’s dry all the way through! I give my nails at least 20 minutes until I consider them dry!

Proper Top Coats

A top coat is super important for your nails. I suggest also applying an extra layer of the top coat to the edges of your nails to secure the polish at this stage as well. More so, to speed up the drying time and to make sure it lasts, I like to use two products; the Essie quick dry drops and the Mavala quick dry spray. These are two super powerful tools to have in your nail arsenal!

Refresh!

The manicure may be done but your job isn’t over quite yet! Keep refreshing the top coat on your nails to keep them shiny, and to keep that manicure lasting all week long!
