A Brand I’m Loving: Clare Waight Keller’s Givenchy

When I first heard that Claire Waight Keller was leaving Chloe and heading to Givenchy, I was incredibly curious to see how her creative vision was going to translate into a new brand. We’ve seen how this can go either way (ahem, did someone say new Celine? ahem) but she did not disappoint; Claire Waight Keller’s Givenchy has quickly become one of my favourite brands to love. Of course, it helps tons that the Duchess of Sussex is a huge fan too but am I allowed to say that I loved the brand even before the debut of Meghan’s wedding dress? (I did I swear!) Either way, when Farfetch asked me to style one of my favourite Givenchy pieces to celebrate the brand’s amazing presence on the red carpet for awards season, I was beyond ecstatic. (I’m not a cool fashion person who can keep it cool, when I feel excitement on the inside it shows!)

Farfetch has a fabulous selection of pieces from Givenchy, including some that are on amazing discount (like this skirt!) and others that are brand new. I’m especially loving the selection of statement hoodies and t-shirts (logomania is going nowhere guys). I wanted to keep things simple, elegant and true to the brand (so gotta add some edge!) so I styled my new skirt with a chic turtleneck, and thigh high boots. For that extra layer, I added in a faux fur jacket. I love the beautiful pleat detailing on this skirt that adds a touch of feminine to an otherwise slick look.

When you’re trying to build the wardrobe of your dreams, but there’s so much option and choice out there, it can be hard to figure out where to invest your money. Just like you, I love a good high street find, but I also know that investing in a piece that is classic and good quality, is going to last me far longer than anything I find on the high street. Don’t get me wrong; I’m not saying you should abandon your weekly Zara browse. If you’re looking to really build the dream collection of clothes though, you need to invest in the right pieces. When the choices are endless, it can be hard to figure out what’s classic and what’s not but with my latest series I’ll be sharing the five best luxury pieces out there each month that are worth your consideration and investment. Trust me when I say this, you will not regret a single one of these purchases!

Cult Gaia make so much more than the famous straw bag you see everywhere. They also make the most fabulous jewellery.

A pair of hoops is such a must have for any girls collection but these are so unique. I bought a green pair and I find that I am constantly reaching for them.

An easy way to make any outfit look more luxe, stylish and add the perfect burst of colour. If you buy only one thing from this edit, I would make it this!

Happy Monday! Honestly guys, I woke up this morning and thought to myself, why aren’t three day weekends a thing? Who’s with me!

The High Low Edit: Outfit #3

Today’s outfit is actually more high street than anything! This super summer look was created using three key pieces from Nasty Gal; they all looked so luxe and you could never tell where they are from! I paired this sporty polo, with this adorable skater skirt. I completed the look with a baker boy hat!

To really add that touch of luxury to my look I carried my favourite Jadior Dior bag and wore my Gucci Bee Sneakers.

Remember, accessories are everything! They can make a total high street look seem much more luxe. More than that, when shopping on the high street, opt for pieces that are classic designs! They look much more expensive when you wear them too!

The High Low Edit: Outfit #1

One of my goals with The Silk Sneaker is to constantly give you guys style inspiration whether that be through styling advice, tips or tricks. One of the key aspects of my style is mixing the best of luxury fashion and the best of the high street to create fashionable and trendy outfits that you can wear on a day to day basis too. That’s why I’m replacing Friday Favourites with a brand new seris called “The High Low Edit”

You can expect a quick dose of inspiration every Friday, where I break down how I created an outfit that I wore previously during the week. Where I got each piece from, why these pieces are worth it and some similar items. All that in just a quick glance! I love this Helmut lang hoodie because it works season after season as a great off duty piece. It’s very relaxed and can be styled with virtually anything. This is a great investment piece because the fit is also very flattering!

In terms of the high street finds; This Zara skirt is a winner because of the fabulous button details. The khaki colour means it will last you for more than just one season as well. I’ve had this ASOS waist belt for ages now and it never fails me. It’s one of those high street pieces that looks so much more luxe than it is. Those are the kinds of high street pieces you want to invest in!
