If there is anything that is brightening up my day, it’s the beautiful weather in London. Even on days forecasted with storms and rains, we get spells of sunshine which means lots of chance to wear a cute summer outfit you’ve been wanting to wear! We’ve already covered all the colours to add to your next summer wardrobe to keep up with the spring-summer trends for 2020, although if you’re a regular reader you’ll know how I feel about trends. Fashion is moving in a much more timeless direction so rather than focusing on trends I’m focusing on items you can add to your closets that will last season after season. So even in my article about the best colours to add to your summer wardrobe, you’ll be able to wear all those colours for years to come.
On that note, we are talking all things summer prints today and trust me guys, you will be reaching for these prints this summer and every summer to come! I know some of you find prints a little bit intimidating especially when you’re not sure what to match them with or whether they suit you or not, so I’m breaking it down for you below. I’m sharing the best way to style these prints as well as some of my favourite pieces so you can create your next cute summer outfit with no hesitation!

GINGHAM
I am going gaga for gingham! We all know I’m a sucker for plaid and houndstooth so of course, I love their equally chic summer counterpart, gingham. Gingham can sometimes seem a little bit flouncy but when styled correctly it is super fashionable. Think the blue and white gingham set I wore the other day! (Also linked below!) Pair gingham with gingham to create a super put together outfit!

FLORALS
Florals for spring and summer? Groundbreaking! Okay, not that groundbreaking but there’s a reason why we keep coming back to this print time and time again. The best part is that florals are great in the autumn too so you can wear these pieces for a majority of the year. I love to mix floral prints together, otherwise, keep it simple and pair with solid colours.

STRIPES
When I think of stripes, I think of Breton stripes, the ultimate french girl feel. I know a lot of people are hesitant and feel that stripes make them look bigger but trust me it’s just about smart pairings! If you’re conscious in stripes opt for vertical lines rather than horizontals! Pair with denim or neutral colours – I always like to keep it simple with stripes to make sure it looks elegant.
