9 AM

My morning started off at the latest LFW pop up in association with the MakeupPlus app! The event was at Lights of Soho and covered everything beauty for LFW! They are even having the pop up open all week long so you can stop by, listen to amazing beauty influencers, get pampered by getting your hair, make up and nails done by professionals who are there to give you the London fashion week look and then even take photos at the amazing selfie station! The Makeup plus app is also just so much fun to play around with, you can upload a photo of yourself and then try out all kinds of make up looks and colours to see what suits you! Check it out here!

LFW Look

My outfit for LFW has to be one of my favourites so far! I had so much fun getting creative with the layering and it was such a beautiful sunny day, that I even got to wear some off shoulder! I love this Rails LA shirt because with the buttons on the back and the front, you can pretty much wear this shirt in so many different ways! I opted to wear it with one off shoulder. I layered this gorgeous off shoulder blazer that I got from India from a store called Madison on Peddar on top of it. With a pair of black jeans boots, and my favourite Gucci bag, I was ready, LFW ready!

2 PM

The afternoon kicked off with my first set of presentations. I went to the first venue which was actually showing presentations from two different designers and they really couldn’t have been more different! The first one, from Ekaterina Kukhareva had a beautiful romantic mood about it with maxi dresses with embroidered and lace details. It almost reminded me of a Midsummers Night Dream but with darker colours to suit the autumn mood. The second collection was modern and minimalistic, from Steven Tai. The collection had lots of gorgeous neutral knits, but all with a twist of their own, either deconstructed or worn in a unique way. See what I mean about the totally different moods? Which do you prefer?

3:30 PM

Had a quick stop at the Savoy for some coffee and cupcakes! It’s so easy to loose track of time and what’s going on at fashion week! Since it’s my first one, I really didn’t realise that when people say you don’t eat, you really don’t eat! Luckily I got to fuel up before we moved on!

5PM

One of my favourite presentations of the day was from Roberta Einer. Firstly, the space was gorgeous – it was like a Mediterranean winter! It had such a colourful vibe and all the little details, from the lounge beach chairs, the glasses of milk and the playing cards that the models were playing with, made me think of a really lovely British summers day! The detailing in the collection was stunning, from the pleats, the cuts and mostly the embroidered work that was featured on many pieces, such as the gorgeous bomber jacket with a fully embroidered motif back! I also couldn’t get over the gorgeous details, like the beautiful gloves (a huge trend coming next winter!) that had lovely words written on them! One of my favourite looks was also a complete tan look, where the bottom had a metallic pleat insert, as well as the gorgeous cowl back! Lovely right?

6:30

My day ended with the Paul Costeloe show at the Waldorf! It was a beautiful runway and I really enjoyed ending my first fashion week that way! I loved the colour blocking and the bright leather tights! Plus at the very end, the designer came out and even danced with the models which was really fun!

All in all, I would say my first ever official LFW was a success! I was so happy to have been a part of the day and to have been able to experience this. Of course, my goals now are to continue to attend, and to attend more shows from designers I admire! What I loved as well is that I actually managed to make some new friends during the day! I met a lovely blogger who I had been following for a while and realised we actually have so much in common. I love meeting other like minded influencers who are there to support and help. On that note, I did have an experience with a few influencers that was the complete opposite. I have heard about this kind of attitude and behaviour in the influencer industry but had never experienced it first hand. Of course, it felt horrible to be consciously excluded and the negative and almost demeaning attitude that was being cast my way was not what I thought would happen but at the same time, I really wouldn’t let something like that affect my entire day. I had such a fabulous day with some truly inspiring people and I always think it’s better to focus on the positive. On that note though, I do think that we should focus on empowering one another. As women in an industry like this one, and also in the world that we currently live in, the climate calls for encouragement because we are better together. I truly believe we should grow together!

I also have a super special fashion month related announcement coming next week so stay tuned! What did you think of LFW?
