You may have seen Helmer on Instagram, or on your favourite influencers (me included! ;)) and she’s joining me today on TSS to share 10 answers to 10 questions to make your day a little bit more inspiring, fashionable and gorgeous.

1. Why did you start Helmer?

Helmer started from a brainstorm between my mother Shevanne, sister Danielle and myself. We just wanted to create the perfect bag for the women on the go. Basically a light bag which you can stuff while remaining chic. Helmer really represents the three of us and also the two generations of women that we are. We wanted to make a brand which both mothers and daughters can wear.

2. Where does your inspiration come from?

The HELMER brand is inspired and influenced by the various cultures and destinations visited by our family throughout numerous voyages. Our passion for travel and constant search of cultural novelty is the cornerstone for creating a handbag and accessory collection that would embrace craftsmanship, whilst offering a perfect balance between style, functionality, practicality and a fashionable insight into various cultures. Our accessories can accompany you on your own travels, whether it is across mountains and oceans, or simply around the corner.

3. What’s your favourite piece from your collection?

This is a very hard question but my favourite I must say is the Jojo Bag. Simply because it’s the most practical bag one can have.

4. If you could give one piece of style advice to the readers of TSS, what would it be?

Never be afraid to wear colours!

5. What would we find in your Helmer bag?

My phone, my agenda (yes I write everything down by hand), my wallet, the Lip Glow colour reviver balm by Dior, the Green Tea hand cream by Elizabeth Arden and my gym clothes (I try to go every morning before the office).

6. What are your favourite places to shop?

Although I love the ease of department stores, such as Harrods, I love going from shop to shop. I feel you have a more personal shopping experience. If I’m shopping the high brands, I like going to Sloane street, if not I’m a eternal Zara fan.

7. What are your must have beauty products?

My ultimate favourite in summer is this oil by Nuxe called Huile Prodigieuse Or, you can apply it in your hair, skin and face. It just nourishes your skin and gives it that summer glow.

8. What are you currently listening to?

Daylight (Mark) By Beauvois

9. Favourite place in the world?

It’s so hard, I’m a travel junkie, I’m always travelling and falling in love with a new city. But I guess my favourite is where I feel at home and that’s in Paris.

10.What are your words of advice for a young designer starting out?

I have two, first of all make sure you do the groundwork before launching your brand (ie. Research, plan …) and secondly stay open minded to help, suggestions and feedback.
