My India Travel Diary: New Delhi & Jodhpur

Surprise! I was in India for most of last week, attending a very special wedding! We were attending from the bride’s side, who was marrying into one of the royal families of Jodhpur so this was nothing short of special! Although I didn’t post about it on Instagram while I was there (see my stories, or this post for why!) I still documented my entire trip, including everything I wore to this Indian wedding, to share with you guys here! In my travel diary, I’m sharing with you what to wear in India, what to see if you’re ever in Jodhpur, and just the highlights and special moments from my trip! Although I’m totally shattered after this super short trip back, I’m already excited for my next adventure (hint hint, it’s my birthday on Saturday!) but, one thing at a time right? So here’s all the amazing moments from my India travel diary!

Our first two nights were celebrated in New Delhi. Although I was battling jet lag, the two events were both so magical and so much fun that I had the best time! On the first evening I wore one of my favourite outfits from Monisha Jaising. If you’ve followed my blog for a while you’ll see that I’ve worn this outfit to almost every wedding I’ve attended for at least one of the events!

On the second day, I opted for an outfit that is not as traditional but is equally beautiful! The style I’m wearing in both images is called a lehnga; a crop top and long skirt. Usually, with lots of embroidery on it! I opted for a heavily embroidered top with a totally plain bottom. I loved the effect of the contrast! I wore this to the actual wedding ceremony!

If you watch my highlights on my stories, you’ll know that A. I love to cook and B. I love to eat! One of the things I miss the most about India is the amazing food, so I was so excited to eat all my favourites! If you’re ever in India, there are a few things you just have to try, my favourites include Idli (what I was eating in my stories, with a face of pure joy), dosa, appam, butter chicken & chaat. This is just the start of my list hah!

A day later, we were off to Jodhpur! Although I lived in India for 18 years, I never visited Jodhpur so i was incredibly excited. We were invited to stay in one of the palaces, that has now been converted into a hotel; Ajit Bhavan. It was breath taking and if you’re visiting, I would highly recommend it! Just look at the view from my room!

For this evening event, we visited another neighbouring royal location which had the most fabulous collection of vintage cars! The bride herself drove in in one from the 1940’s! (How amazing is that??). It was nothing short of magical!

For this event, I wore an outfit from Indian designer Manish Mahlotra. It’s a jumpsuit on the inside with the most stunning kimono style jacket over. It has a belt that goes over it as well. For the after party, I just took this off and partied in my jumpsuit! The perfect outfit for any Indian wedding!

Stay tuned, there will be many more photos going up on my Instagram this week!

On our final day in Jodhpur, we woke up a little earlier to go see one of the most famous forts. The property is still being restored however each room was more breath taking than the next. We saw a room made completely of mirrors, one made with gold ceilings. We saw the most fabulous jewels, antique pieces, and so much more, each with a new story to tell!

Plus, the view from the very top of the fort of all the blue houses of Jodhpur was stunning. Jodhpur is known as the blue city as most of the roofs are blue! It really is worth visiting if you are in India!

I was wearing a blouse from Ba&sh along with a Maje skirt. Although both these pieces are old, I’ve linked to similar ones here:

I was also wearing these shoes from Malone Soulier! Super comfortable for everything!

What I’ve Been Wearing in India So Far: Stay Wild

Fashion blogger Shloka Narang of The Silk Sneaker shares her holiday outfits while in India with indian outfits as well as what to wear in India

I’m back with another outfit diary where I’m sharing what to wear in India. I hope that even if you aren’t travelling to India, these holiday outfits will give you enough inspiration for wherever you’re travelling to this holiday season, especially if it’s somewhere sunny! Although, speaking of sunshine, we’ve been hit with a hurricane so it’s been pouring down rain since yesterday! Not exactly the day I had in mind today but I hope that these images will brighten up your day!

When deciding what to wear in India, I tend to pack in outfits. I like to use pieces that mix and match well but I also love a good mix of statement pieces. In this past week, my outfits had a few statement accessories that really helped them stand out from the crowd. Trust me, India is crowded.

What was your favourite outfit? Will you be recreating these looks? If you aren’t travelling anywhere warm just yet, don’t forget to pin these images for later! My Pinterest is full of summer inspiration for the new year already!

When deciding what to wear in India, I always pack fabrics that are lightweight so that I can enjoy the heat! My linen shirts are a must like this white one. I also like to pack a few statement pieces that can be mixed and matched, like these adorable shorts and my beautiful scarf!

I pulled out an old Topshop Shirt dress to wear on Wednesday. I love dresses for my vacation outfits because they are so easy to wear! I wanted to add some more glam to my dress so I added in these brand new Kendra Scott earrings! They have recently opened in Selfridges, London and you can even go in and design your own pair!

Thursday was one of my favourite outfits of the week, and my Instagram families as well! I actually discovered this adorable brand called Two Baked Buns on Instagram. They let you fully customise your hats and I really wanted one! I chose the words “Stay Wild” and I just adore it! The top is actually an old piece that you may recognise from this post here!

On Friday I was able to attend an exciting event held by Gucci in India. It was such a glamorous evening so I wanted to dress the part! Although I was more than excited to switch out my heels for sneakers at the end of the night!

What I’ve Been Wearing in India So Far: Indian Outfits and more!

As some of you may know from my Instagram, I’ve been in India for the past week! It’s been an incredibly hectic week so far with a secret project in the works as well as attending a beautiful wedding! With a little bit more time here in Bombay, I wanted to share all the outfits I’ve been wearing so far and where you can get them too! I hope you enjoy the Indian outfits (For all my Indian followers who have been asking me where I got these made, all the details are below!) and it gives you an idea of what to wear in India too! This past week has been a bit more glamorous than usual but a little sparkle never hurt anybody right?

After landing into Bombay last Tuesday, I immediately jetted off to New Delhi where I was attending a wedding. Indian weddings are usually a four-day extravaganza of colour and shine. There were five events in total but I’m sharing some of my favourite looks with you. It’s one of the few times I really get to get all dolled up and wear as many sparkles as my heart desires! Now that I’m back in Bombay, I will be sharing some more casual looks as well but till then, scroll down to see what I’ve been up to!

Taking off to India, this was one of my most comfortable travel outfits to date! I love a monochrome look because it is so easy and chic! You really can’t go wrong!

Sweater: Wildfox

Track Pants: Zara (Similar via Revolve here)

Sneakers: Gucci

I landed in and had to prep for a secret project! I can’t wait to share more but for now, I can show you the awesome new sunnies I got! Unfortunately, they were lost over the weekend but I am determined to find them! These ray-bans are the most flattering shape ever! I also am lucky enough to have gotten my hands on these adorable new bracelets from the Dior cruise collection! Such pretty colours!

Sunglasses: Ray Ban

Bracelets: Dior

Lip Colour: Nars Do Me Baby

The next day I was off to Delhi to attend a wedding! The festivities kicked off with a lovely dinner and the next day I sported this jumpsuit! You will never guess where it’s from! It’s super chic and super affordable! I also wore these shoes for almost every single event underneath all my huge outfits – they were super comfortable and let me stay on my feet all day and night!

Jumpsuit: Next

Shoes: Valentino

Next was the cocktail dinner. I wore one of my favourite dresses of all time from Self Portrait! I love that it isn’t your typical LBD. Unfortunately on the way back home I managed to get my heel stuck in the lace and my dress ripped! Luckily it’s being fixed as we speak! Phew!

Dress: Self Portrait (Similar via Self Portrait here and via ASOS here)

Shoes: Charlotte Olympia (another super comfy pair of heels regardless of the height!)

The following day was something called the “mehndi” and the “sangeet”. This is the henna ceremony where the bride and all the women get beautiful henna work done on their hands! The sangeet is when both the bride and grooms side perform dances and skits! It was a beautiful day with bursts of colour! I wore a yellow sari!

Sari: Bharavi Jaikishan

Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

This was by far my most favourite outfit. I got so many DM’s from you guys on Instagram asking me where I got this lehnga from. This particular piece is from one of my favourite Indian designers, Pallavi Jaikishan. I loved that the blouse was off-shoulder and this particular shade of pink is one of my favourites for sure! Plus the humongous skirt made me feel like a total princess!

Lehnga: Pallavi Jaikishan
