Every month the beauty industry releases a whole new set of products but today I’m focused on the best new makeup in October. As you know, I’m constantly on the hunt for the products to toss and the best beauty products to add to cult classic product status. I know it can be hard to sift through these constant new releases but for your autumn beauty routine I’ve narrowed it down to three must-have beauty products to add to your shelfie as soon as possible. From Chanel beauty’s latest release to a primer that combats pesky spots, you’re going to be falling hard for one of these three!

CHANEL ROUGE ALLURE POWDER LIP MATTE

Chanel beauty products, especially their makeup range is one of those things every chic woman needs in her routine. Their lipsticks have always been a favourite of mine but this season they have released a brand new lip stain with a powder matte consistency. Yes, you read that right, powder. It feels silky smooth on the skin and makes your skin velvety. The matte finish is so on trend for autumn beauty in 2018 and it comes in a fabulous range of colours. My favourite, that I’m wearing here, is ?

L’OREAL X ISABEL MARANT CLEAR MASCARA

When a beauty product is multi-purpose, I’m always more intrigued. The L’oreal x Isabel Marant Wanted Clear Brow and Eyelash gel is one of those products that I have been loving. You can use it to keep your brows in place or you can use it on your eyelashes every day instead of your mascara for a more natural looking lift. Of course, a dramatic mascara like the Hourglass one creates a fabulous effect (my current go-to mascara) but this is more fabulous for every day since it’s natural yet still does what it’s meant to. Instead of looking too made-up you look effortless. Isn’t that what we are all trying to achieve?

L’OREAL X ISABEL MARANT CLEAR GEL

COVER FX MATTIFYING PRIMER

We know that I struggle with acne, and recently with a very strong course of retinol my skin has been ‘purging’. I needed something to help me balance the oils on my skin as well as fight those pesky spots. Enter: Cover FX Mattifying primer. The primer is infused with a bit of salicylic acid which is known to fight any pimples, whiteheads and unwanted bumps on your flawless face! It’s also a matte finish which helps to make your skin appear even. You can wear it on its own or you can use it as a base for your make up. A must have for those with acne prone skin like mine since it works on your skin while you wear it.

It’s no secret that plaid is the official print for autumn and winter and is also a major autumn winter 2018 trend. Whether you opt for big checks (think vintage Burberry that’s making a comeback), tartan or the traditional plaid you know and love, you know it’s a print that will never fail you. You all know that skirts are my favourite pieces to style, but I’m also a big fan of a great pair of trousers, specifically a good pair of plaid trousers. Today, I wanted to share a great styling tip with you for wearing your favourite plaid pants.

When styling plaid, don’t be afraid to add in different versions of the print into one outfit. I always find that my plaid outfit looks more inspired when I add in another piece in the pattern. Don’t be discouraged if the two pieces are not an exact match, the mismatch effect is actually quite cool and makes this cute autumn outfit look effortless. I styled my Topshop plaid trousers with my & Other Stories check blazer.

If you live in a warmer country, you can wear the look with a blouse like the one I have on here from Kitri. I love the beautiful puffy sleeves and the ruching detail down the centre. If you’re already gearing up for the winter though, why not try it with the sweater version of my top from Chriselle Lim’s latest collection. You can also reach for your trust white turtleneck for this look and jazz it up with some chunky gold necklaces or dainty layered ones.

3 Styling Tips I Learned From Fashion Week That Can Transform Your Outfit

As fashion week, or rather fashion month, comes to a close, there is no denying that one of autumn winters biggest trends was all over the street style scene; animal prints. With leopard print having made a huge comeback for the season, I scoured the street style scene for the small styling tips and tricks to make any outfit that much more chic. Over the last month I’ve noticed three little details that can make styling your leopard print top, or any animal print top for that matter, that much more elegant. What I especially love about these tips is that they also make your outfit look much more expensive!

Tip #1: Hair Accessories are Welcome
Having a bad hair day? Spice up your low bun with a hairband! It’s a beautiful way to add that extra special touch to your autumn outfit. Sometimes with leopard print, we risk the outfit looking like everyone else, but a small touch like this can really set your look apart.

Tip #2: Match Your Nails To Your Look
I once read that a fashion insider always looked at a person’s nails when she was meeting them for the first time. Needless to say, a good manicure can lead to a good impression but in this case, a matched manicure can lead to an even better one. Backstage at fashion week, nude nails were all the rage! It’s a great way to make your outfit seem more put together without having tried too hard, Of course, you can’t always match your manicure to your outfit, but opt for a wonderful neutral beige like this Essie shade I’m wearing and you’ll see that your nails always match.

Tip #3: Your Lipstick Is Your Final Accessory
Bold bright fall makeup is a trend that I am welcoming with open arms, especially when it includes a bright lipstick! I added a pop of red to my outfit with my Chanel bag, but the real finishing touch that the street style stars all know is that your lipstick has got to match too! It’s such a thoughtful detail that instantly makes your outfit look much more luxe. I matched my lipstick with this Tom Ford shade which is an autumn must have for sure!

It’s official, autumn is here which means it’s finally ankle boot season. I love summer as much as the next girl but I also love the change of season and the idea of breaking out a fresh pair of ankle boots, whether they are snake print, cowboy boots or even velvet shoes, makes me so excited. Maybe it’s the concept of change or maybe it’s just having run out of what to do with my summer wardrobe, whatever it may be, my autumn boots are out. Now, I know how important it is to have a pair of black ankle boots in your wardrobe (a staple!) but it’s time to update your style for autumn winter 2018.

As with any season, there are certain ankle boots that you need to stay extra stylish this season. I’ve narrowed it down to three categories: animal prints, cowboy boots and velvet boots. I’ve rounded up a whole selection in each category, ready for you to shop directly. There is something for every price point, including pairs that are under £100, so I’m sure you will find what you’re looking for here!

THE ANIMAL PRINT BOOTS

Animal prints are a huge trend for autumn winter 2018 and that means leopard print, snake print and croc effect boots. I love this trend because if you buy the right pair, they will actually last you far beyond just one season. I’ve actually had my snake print boots for the past 4 years and every year I get compliment upon compliment for them! Below are some of my favourite picks for you, at every price point.

THE COWBOY BOOTS

Cowboy boots are here partner! I love them so much that my shoe of the month for September was dedicated to my Isabel Marant Cowboy boots. If you’re afraid of this trend, it’s all about buying a pair that isn’t too “country” and would still look fabulous with your favourite turtleneck dress or leather leggings. I would opt for shorter boots and preferably in neutral colours. You can really take it up a notch by getting cowboy boots in a snake print! Two trends in one go and you would be the coolest girl around! Here are my picks below:

THE VELVET BOOTS

Velvet is one of those materials that is in style every autumn winter. It is genuinely timeless and you would never go wrong by investing in a velvet piece, whether it’s a velvet dress, velvet shoes or in this case, velvet boots. I bought my velvet boots about 2 years ago and I wear them on repeat come autumn. Have some fun with colours, velvet always looks beautiful in jewel tones and it’s a great way to add colour and interest to any basic autumn outfit! You could also pair your velvet boots with your holiday party outfit when the time comes! Trust me, it looks incredible! Here are my picks below:

The Trending Autumn Winter 2018 Colour You’re Going To Wear On Repeat

The start of a new season has seen a rise of autumn winter trends for 2018; we’ve seen snake print and leopard print make a roaring come back, and nothing gets between us and our plaid blazers. What really gives me a dose of inspiration for cute autumn outfit ideas are the trending colours and the autumn-winter colour trends for 2018 are no exception. At the top of the list is a colour that I’ve surprisingly come to love; mustard yellow. With Paris Fashion Week coming to a close, not only have I seen this colour dominate the street style, but it’s very much here to stay from now all the way to next summer!

Like so many others, I was unsure of this shade It didn’t seem like the most obvious choice when reaching for a sweater, but over the past few months I’ve started to see glimpses of mustard pop up in my wardrobe more and more (and I don’t mean through me messily spilling it all over my clothes while devouring a plate of fries). Here are my top three tips for styling mustard this season to create a cute autumn outfit and countless more cute sweater outfit ideas for the season.

Firstly, pair your mustard yellow piece with neutrals like white, black, beige and khaki. These are the colours that work best with it and you’ll find that mustard will quickly become your favourite way to make any autumn outfit formula more interesting. I styled my sweater with this adorable white storets skirt and black accessories.

Secondly, Add touches of gold to really bring out your outfit. Gold and yellow compliment each other and this is a great way to bring your favourite chain belt into the new season.

Thirdly, mustard goes beautifully well with autumn winter’s favourite prints. This includes snake prints and plaid. That’s why I opted for a mustard sweater as my new must-have piece for autumn.

For my amazing readers who live in countries that are warm all year round, this is a great way to make your wardrobe more seasonal, by working this colour into your outfits through accessories or basics like t-shirts or even an adorable skirt.

Monday Update #60

Where has the time flown that it is officially the start of October? It’s time to dig into your wardrobe and pull out your favourite sweaters and autumn winter trends for 2018 and start to enjoy the change of colours. Yes, it does freak me out a tiny bit that when you walk into a store the Christmas decorations are already out, but at the same time, a new season always brings about new excitement and new goals.

There has been a lot of demand for more beauty content alongside outfits on the blog so get ready for more posts focusing on some of your favourite topics. I’m also so excited to be delving further into Youtube but am still trying to figure out whether I should be doing this on IGTV or on Youtube! I’m sure you can all relate to me when I say the Instagram algorithm is really annoying me right now.

It can be very easy to get caught up in the world of social media, likes and comments. As we start to delve further and further down the rabbit hole we sometimes forget what really matters; the quality of content. So if anything, my goal is to focus less on the numbers and more on the beautiful content I’m creating for you.
