This week we got a real taste of spring here in London and although I couldn’t take my spring outfits for a spin just yet (I was down with the flu, was such a bummer but all your amazing and positive messages on Instagram made me smile so much!) I am so excited to start planning out the cutest outfits that you all can rock this season. I am always taking inspiration from the fashion world around me, especially with all the beautiful street style coming out of Paris fashion week right now, but with all that said and done, there are three things that I always look forward to wearing every spring. Here are your spring outfit essentials and how to style them already:

1. Spring skirts
I was recently asked what my go-to outfit is when I’m in a rush and more often than not you’re going to find me in a skirt and blouse/sweater (Can we stop saying the word sweater now that it’s almost spring?) I am so excited to start pulling out all my favourite spring skirts and stocking up on new ones! This spring, I’ve noticed there are a lot of mini and midi shapes trending, especially slip skirts! I’ve linked to some of my favourites here:

2. Pastel colours
I am such a spring and summer baby. I love all the beautiful colours associated with the season, especially pastels. Pastel pink is one of my all-time favourite colours when it comes to basically everything and I’ve already started to pull out my favourite pastel pieces, like this top handle Dior handbag. Pastels are always a fashion trend for spring and summer, but this season we are seeing a lot of pistachio green. I covered some of my favourite pistachio green pieces here!

3. Ankle boots
It’s time to pack those thigh high boots away and say hello to ankle boots. (There is only one outfit exception I’m making for high boots and you will see that one very soon!) This season we see a fashion trend carrying over from last year; cowboy boots. I was so excited when I finally got my hands on these Isabel Marant cowboy boots and I even wrote an entire review about them here. If there’s a boot style you need this year it’s this one! I’ve linked to some of my favourites here below:

As fashion week, or rather fashion month, comes to a close, there is no denying that one of autumn winters biggest trends was all over the street style scene; animal prints. With leopard print having made a huge comeback for the season, I scoured the street style scene for the small styling tips and tricks to make any outfit that much more chic. Over the last month I’ve noticed three little details that can make styling your leopard print top, or any animal print top for that matter, that much more elegant. What I especially love about these tips is that they also make your outfit look much more expensive!

Tip #1: Hair Accessories are Welcome
Having a bad hair day? Spice up your low bun with a hairband! It’s a beautiful way to add that extra special touch to your autumn outfit. Sometimes with leopard print, we risk the outfit looking like everyone else, but a small touch like this can really set your look apart.

Tip #2: Match Your Nails To Your Look
I once read that a fashion insider always looked at a person’s nails when she was meeting them for the first time. Needless to say, a good manicure can lead to a good impression but in this case, a matched manicure can lead to an even better one. Backstage at fashion week, nude nails were all the rage! It’s a great way to make your outfit seem more put together without having tried too hard, Of course, you can’t always match your manicure to your outfit, but opt for a wonderful neutral beige like this Essie shade I’m wearing and you’ll see that your nails always match.

Tip #3: Your Lipstick Is Your Final Accessory
Bold bright fall makeup is a trend that I am welcoming with open arms, especially when it includes a bright lipstick! I added a pop of red to my outfit with my Chanel bag, but the real finishing touch that the street style stars all know is that your lipstick has got to match too! It’s such a thoughtful detail that instantly makes your outfit look much more luxe. I matched my lipstick with this Tom Ford shade which is an autumn must have for sure!

So three tips that are actually incredibly easy to work into any of your outfits without much investment! That’s the best, isn’t it? What do you think of these tips? Comment below with your thoughts!

This Is Why You Should Invest In This New Classic Pattern…

The Spots You Want To See…

There are certain patterns that never go out of style. Stripes, checks, and the latest addition to that list is leopard print. Season after season, we see it on the runway, we see it at our favourite high street stores and on our favourite street style stars; there is no escaping leopard print. That’s why you should embrace this print! Trust me, I wasn’t 100% on the bandwagon. In fact, when I met my dear friend Sophie from Silk & Strands some months ago, I was convinced that a print like this, on a coat nonetheless, was not going to suit me! But, what do I always say? It’s all about taking risks and being a little fearless when it comes to your style! I’ve always loved the print, so why not give it a shot!

When I found this jacket from By Malene Birger, I knew I had found the perfect piece to ease me into this pattern. After this, I’ve been all about investing in leopard prints more! From skirts to tops to coats, it’s a pattern I think we should all have in our wardrobes. If you are like me and are initially hesitant about a pattern as bold as this, I have some tips for how to style that leopard print coat, skirt or top you’ve been wanting so badly.

Firstly, be mindful of the other colours you are pairing your leopard with. I would avoid anything too bright and stick to neutral or jewel tones like beiges, blacks, whites or even maroons! The more neutral the colours, the more likely your outfit will stand out in the right way! Secondly, be aware of textures as well. Try to keep other textures to a minimum as I have done here. Other than my leather boots, I really let the jacket do most of the work. Lastly, be confident! The easiest way to pull of a star print like this is to wear it with confidence. Trust me, no one will doubt it, and you can totally rock it!

I’ve linked to some of my favourite leopards print pieces that are available right now. I’ve picked these because I love how luxe they look and would be super easy to style!
