3 Ways To Look Taller In Your Winter Outfit

What a lot of you tend to forget, is that not only am I a fashion blogger, but I am a petite fashion blogger. When most of you meet me for the first time, the one statement I always hear is “Wow, I thought you would be so much taller”. There is no escaping the fact that I am a mere 5’1 but being petite, I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve to help you look taller in your next winter outfit.

1. Pointed Toes Are The Best Option
Although you might see a lot of square fronts or round fronted shoes, pointed shoes are your best friend. They give the illusion of more height. This trick works not just for your favourite heeled boots, like my over the knee suede boots that I’m wearing here, but also for flats! It’s a great way to make yourself look taller while still wearing flats.

2. Show off your waist
I cannot stress this point enough. If you remember my post on layering as a petite girl, you’ll know this trick already! Highlighting your waist makes you look taller as it gives the illusion of longer legs. It also helps your clothes to fit better. You don’t want to look like you’re swimming in your clothes! I did that here with my new Dior belt.

3. Tie Your Hair!
This is actually one of the easiest ways to look taller this winter. Keeping your hair off your face isn’t just good for your skin but it gives you some heigh too! Apart from the obvious height, you gain with your ponytail, by letting your face shine clearly, you appear taller too!

Of course, it also helps to show a little bit of skin. I did that her with this black slit skirt. A great way to recreate this look for when it really starts to get cold would be to wear opaque tights underneath!

How To Upgrade Your Bomber Jacket In 2018

The Bomber Jacket is Getting a 2018 Upgrade…

The bomber jacket is a piece that every girl should have in her capsule wardrobe. Time after time, season after season, this one jacket is the key to off-duty style. Since it’s one of my favourites, I happen to have many variations, but today is all about being sporty chic with this particular side stripe bomber jacket. What I love about this piece is that although it has an athleisure vibe to it, it’s so easy to dress it up or down and add some feminine touches. For me, that came in the form of colour. I always find that adding a sense of “chic” to each outfit, elevates any look. That was the idea with this bomber jacket outfit; I went for a totally monochrome pink look! Plus, you guys know that I always love a good pink outfit, like this one here!

Not only did I match the pink of my jacket with the pink in my skirt, I made sure that the sweater underneath was coordinated with the stripes on my bomber jacket. It’s attention to detail that can really make an outfit go from good to great! To really make this outfit street style worthy (while remaining weather appropriate!) I swapped my sneakers for some thigh high boots! That’s how you bring the bomber jacket into 2018!

I’ve never been one for a totally athleisure outfit, that’s why I like to add little bits and pieces that make the trend more me. In this case, it’s colours, but it’s also dainty accessories. These Astrid & Miyu earrings are the perfect everyday piece for any occasion. I love the unique geometric shape! Of course, there is no ignoring my Gucci bee bag! Fun fact: I’m petrified of bees and wasps but somehow I always have accessories that incorporate them!

The Number One Way To Wear A Slip Skirt in the Winter

Don’t put that slip skirt away…

After a while of browsing through photos of sweaters and jeans on Pinterest, we start to run out of some great winter outfit ideas. For me, I love to get creative with my combinations and I’m always thinking of new ways to provide you guys with some outfit inspiration while encouraging you to be adventurous with your wardrobe. If there’s anything that’s trending right now it’s that Topshop slip skirt that we all want to get our hands on. If you did manage to get it, or a similar one like this one you can create a beautiful winter outfit.

The number one way for you to rock your favorite summer slip skirt this winter is easier than you think. Grab your favorite chunky sweater and throw it on over the skirt. I paired this beautiful silk skirt that you may remember from my trip to Santorini, with this super chunky and frilly black sweater from Claudie Pierlot. I love the mix of textures that the two pieces create together! I think that an outfit is much chicer when you don’t get lost in it so to define my silhouette I added in a belt. I find that it really brings the outfit together.

The final touch would, of course, be a pair of thigh high boots. After all, you have to make sure you’re warm! My boots and sweater kept me super cozy and I was so happy I was able to wear this skirt! You can also try to recreate this look with your favorite summer dress by simply throwing a chunky sweater over it! If you remember I did that recently on my Instagram!
